Trans Lives Report 2025

Project type

Report

I designed TransActual's 2025 report, Trans Lives, a major research report based on responses from more than 4,000 trans people across the UK.

The report explores key issues affecting trans communities, including access to identification, experiences of transphobia and barriers to healthcare, highlighting the significant challenges many trans people face in everyday life.

The publication was launched at a public event attended by Green Party leader, Zack Polanski, bringing additional political attention to the findings and recommendations. The report aims to support policymakers, campaigners and community organisations in understanding the lived realities of trans people and advocating for systemic change.

From a design perspective, the project required translating complex research findings into a clear and accessible visual narrative. I developed a structured editorial layout to support long-form reading while integrating data visualisations, charts and infographics to communicate survey findings clearly. Pull quotes and key statistics were used throughout the report to highlight insights and create visual entry points for readers.

The design balances clarity with impact, using a consistent grid system, strong typographic hierarchy and carefully structured sections to guide readers through the research. Colour and graphic elements were used to reinforce the report’s themes while maintaining accessibility and readability across both digital and print formats. The result is a visually engaging research publication that helps make complex data easier to understand while amplifying the voices and experiences behind the research.
